Hello everyone, my name is Mike Ellis, and I am the creator of the website My Dreams of Disney, and a new correspondent with the Disney Food Report! I am excited to be here, and today I thought I would take a few minutes and write about my favorite snack choices at Walt Disney World. As you probably know, there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of choices available when it comes to snacks, and I like a lot of them, so coming down with a list of just a few is a little daunting! However, we can do this, so let’s get right to it!
The Cinnamon Bun from the Main Street Bakery is one of my favorite Disney snacks! This super sweet, warm, deliciousness is worth waiting for, and makes for a perfect quick breakfast at the Magic Kingdom! With the renovation of the Main Street Bakery to include Starbucks coffee, I’ve heard rumors that the Cinnamon Bun won’t be available at that location anymore, and will instead be available in area of the New Fantasyland expansion. Have you all heard about this rumor, and whether or not it is true or false? I’d really like to know, so any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
I remember when I had this special ice cream sandwich. My niece and I were sitting over by Fairfax Fare in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, enjoying a snack while her fiancee, his brother, and my wife screamed themselves silly on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. It was just a day or two after Shane had surprised her with a proposal in front of Cinderella Castle, and we were living in the moment of being there (I was the photographer of the post that you see if you click on over to it). It was a nice, mild evening, not too hot, not cool certainly, since it was June, and it was a great time that we had, just my and my sister’s baby, reliving one of the best memories of her young life.
Sophie really enjoys celebrating her birthday at Walt Disney World — so much so, that we have been for her birthday three times! There are many things she likes about it — having everybody wish her happy birthday all week, being able to get special birthday cards at our reservation dinners; even, one year, the boat captain of the boat we took from Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter to Downtown Disney gave her a Pirate Princess getup, which she still has and enjoys! But I think, perhaps, her favorite reason for enjoying Walt Disney World at her birthday is the special desserts that she is given at the end of our table service meals! She loves to create her own desserts, and these examples are her handiwork at it’s finest! While she didn’t decorate the second dessert herself (see below), Sophie still enjoyed blowing out the candle, and having Happy Birthday sung to her, of course, so that’s another reason why she likes to celebrate her birthday at Walt Disney World!
My friend Amanda from Disney’s Cheapskate Princess is a huge aficionado of cupcakes at Walt Disney World! I don’t think she’s met a cupcake yet that she hasn’t liked! So, one day, when I was writing about Disney snacks on my blog, she submitted this picture that she took when she created the site MouzeKateerz.com. Even though she is a Cheapskate Princess now, Amanda’s passion for cupcakes still lives on!
My next favorite snack is the incredible popcorn that you can get at Walt Disney World! While this picture does no justice at all to the wonderful popcorn that they have, especially in Town Square, it does showcase the fun that the Cast Members have at Walt Disney World! This particular picture was taken over by Club 626 when the DJ was out, Stitch, Chip and Dale were dancing to the music, and the whole place was rocking! Anyway, back to popcorn. There is nothing I like better for a parade then a great, hot, fresh popcorn and a Diet Coke to drink!
Sophie absolutely loves a Jumbo Turkey Leg! This picture was taken in 2011 during our trip with her cousin Anna Jane, her Mom and Dad, and her Grandma. Sophie had never had a turkey leg of her own before, so this was a special picture for her, digging into that leg! My friend Bob says that it’s really an emu leg, but we know better!
Now, with all of these fun treats that I’ve been sharing with you, there is one snack that I don’t think any of us like! It’s called “Green Bean Delicacy”, and my sister-in-law Nancy got this dessert when she didn’t eat all her veggies at the 50′s Prime Time Cafe! You have all been warned!
I hope you all have enjoyed my look at some of my favorite Disney snacks! Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to check out my Disney Planning Resources page for some of my restaurant reviews!
