Disney Dining FAQ

Disney Dining Questions
Disney Dining Frequently Asked Questions

Overview of Dining at WDW for a first timer:

Q:  I or a member of my party has a food allergy, can I still dine at Disney restaurants?

A: Yes-If a member of your traveling party has food allergies or other special dietary needs, Disney will work with you to find dining options to suit your specific needs. Here is what you need to do/know:

*When making dining reservations, either by phone or online, make sure to note your allergy/special needs on the reservation.

*When you arrive at the restaurant, first alert the host staff to avoid an offending food being brought to the table upon the servers first visit to your table.

*Alert your server of your allergy/special needs. They will in turn inform the chef, who will visit your table and discuss with you the exact restrictions and will be able to inform you of preparation and if they are able to accommodate all your requests. The chef can also inform you which buffet items to avoid and which would be safe to eat.

*Guest with allergies or other intolerance, may bring their own special foods into the parks. Just let security know.

*Guests who need special foods/medicines/supplements refrigerated should inform the Front Desk at your resort and a refrigerator will be provided. Generally, there is no charge for use of a refrigerator for items such as insulin and other medically necessary items.

*There are NO separate cooking areas or dining areas at Disney, so if being in proximity to allergy-inducing foods is a problem, Disney leaves it up to the guest to make the best decision as to whether or not it would be wise to dine in a particular restaurant.

* Cast members are not allowed to cook or reheat special food items brought in by the guest.

*There are at least 2 Quick Service restaurants in each park that may be able to accommodate special dietary requests.

* Some special dietary requests that can be filled:

         **Food Allergies

         **Metabolic Disorders/Multiple Allergies/PKU (14 days advance notice)

**Kosher meals (24 hours advance notice)

         **Low-sodium/Low Fat/No Sugar Added/Vegetarian Diets

Disney goes out of it’s way to accommodate special dietary requests, but ultimately it is the guest responsibility to decide what is best for them. If you have questions you can contact Disney at SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com to discuss your special situation.

Q: What is a Signature Restaurant?

A: A Signature Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant on Disney property. Creative menus, award winning wine lists, top notch service and stunning locations & interior designs can be found at Disney’s collection of Signature dining restaurants.

Some things to know about Signature Dining:

*Signature Restaurants “cost” 2 sit-down meal credits on the Disney Dining Plan

*Reservations are highly recommended. Especially for popular dining times.

*There is a dress code of business casual in all Signature restaurants: Tank tops, Swim suits & swim suit cover ups, hats for men, cut-off clothing, torn/ripped clothing & tee shirts with offensive language and/or images are not permitted.

*Victoria & Albert’s has a stricter dress code: No jeans, sneaker, shorts, capris, sandals or flip-flops are allowed. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets. Ties are optional.

*The only Signature restaurant that has an age requirement is Victoria & Albert’s. Guest must be at least 10 years old to dine there.

* Many Signature restaurants are located at resort locations. Since there is no resort-to-resort transportation, plan accordingly if you are using Disney transportation to get to the restaurant on time.

*Many Signature restaurants offer a children’s menu.
