The Liberty Tree Tavern is one of our regular eating spots during every Walt Disney World trip since our first visit in 1994. Over the years, we have seen the service take a dip (especially during the launch of the Dining Plan), but it has improved over the past few years.
If you glance at the lunch menu for the Liberty Tree Tavern, you will see a lot of foods that might sound particularly heavy, like pot roast, stew and turkey. After spending a morning touring a hot park, you might be in the mood for something lighter.
The Tri-Corner Sandwich has become a fast favorite of mine. It is a roast beef and swiss cheese sandwich served on herbed focaccia bread. It is layered with horseradish sauce and arugula (which I thought it was just lettuce, but it is a delicious mustardy/peppery leafy vegetable). I enjoyed the sandwich—not just for its taste, but also because I didn’t feel heavy after.
You can get a salad or a cup of soup with it, as well. The price is $12.99 for the lunch entree.
The Liberty Tree Tavern offers a menu for lunch and a family-style buffet for dinner.

My wife and I had lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern Thurs. 1/19, the day Pres. Obama paid a visit. I had the Tri-Corner Sandwich and although it is not as heavy as some of the other offerings, it is still a lot of food. I opted for the soup, that day it was a Tomato Florentine. The “cup” was more like a bowl. Both were quite good and I made every effort to finish the meal, but left a bite or two.
